Introduction To Llanberis
Llanberis is a small village located in the north of Snowdonia. Llanberis is the start point to climb the most popular route up Snowdon the tallest mountain in Wales. From Llanberis you are able to catch a train up to the top of Snowdon.​Llanberis is popular among hikers due to its location in being surrounded by some of the most famous mountain within the national parkand contains many places to stay and eat, nearby are many other places for endless adventures.
Things To Do In Llanberis
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) Summit
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Snowdonia national park and Wales standing at 1085m. There are many locations in which you can start the walk up the most popular mountain in Wales.

Llyn Padarn is glacially formed lake situated in-between some of Snowdonia’s most stunning mountains. There is the majestic padarn country park located on the south eastern shore of the lake.​


Dinorwic Slate Quarry
Dinorwic quarry is a large slate quarry, located between the villages of Dinorwig and Llanberis in Wales. When Dinorwic quarry was operational it was the second largest quarry in Wales after the nearby Penrhyn quarry near Bethesda.
Dolbadarn Castle is located at the base of Llanberis pass. The castle has rich history dating back to when it was first built in 13th century. The Dolbadarn is located next to Llyn Padarn.
The Snowdon mountain railway is a train in which you can catch from LLanberis to the top of the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. The summit visitor centre is where the train terminates, at the visitors centre there is a cafe in which you can enjoy the views at the top of Wales.

Ceunant Mawr Waterfall
Ceunant Mawr Waterfall also known as Llanberis Falls, is situated a short walk from LLanberis. The Llanberis falls is one of the most popular falls in Wales which plunges from a height of 30m and be seen from the viaduct on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

Llanberis Hiking Trails
1. Snowdon via Llanberis path
Distance - 14.6 km
Time - 6 h
Elevation - 989 m
Difficulty - Hard
This route up mount Snowdon is considered the easiest route to Snowdonia's highest peak. The route start in Llanberis and steadily climbs all the way to the summit of Snowdon, it is an out and back route so once at the summit you are able to retrace your footsteps back to the start point. 2. Llyn Idwal Circular
Distance - 4.8 km
Time - 1. 30 h
Elevation - 256 m
Difficulty - Easy
This is a fairly low level easy route around the tranquil Llyn Idwal. The trail starts at the Ogwen valley car park, the path starts across the Afon Idwal, through the moorland to Llyn Idwal. The path then continues on the Llwybr y Carw path, tracing the northern edge of the lake and heading south along the banks. Once you travel around the whole body of water you follow your footsteps back to the start point. Find this route here
3. Llyn Padarn Lake Walk

Difficulty - Easy
This route which circles the entire Llyn Padarn is an easy low level family friendly walk which is marked out clearly. Along this route you will cross through enchanting woodlands with an amazing backdrop of the Snowdonia mountains. 4. Glyder Fawr & Glyder Fach

Difficulty - Hard
This circular route around the Glyderau range is one of the most popular in Snowdonia. there are several walking and scrambling routes leading to its summits. The routes up these two mountains are for experienced hikers as there are some tough scrambles especially when going up bristly ridge. The walk has sensational views over to Snowdon and to Pen Yr Ole Wen. Find this route here
5. Tryfan Circular

Difficulty - Hard
Tryfan is one of the most recognisable peaks in the UK. Although just a short walk from car park, Tryfan is a challenging route as there is a lot of scrambling up the North ridge and then back down the south ridge. The name, Tryfan means three rocks, referring to the three rocky peaks that can be seen from most angles of this iconic mountain. Find this route here
