Torridon lies between Loch Torridon and the vast mountain landscape consisting of the famous Liathach scramble.​ Torridon is very secluded and has only a handful of accommodation, its peaceful and stunning scenery make it a magical place to stay.

Loch Torridon is a sea loch unlike most other lochs in Scotland which are fresh water. Loch Torridon was formed by glacial erosion and is 25 km long.

Coire mhic nobuil is a waterfall hidden behind the famous Liathach. The hidden waterfall has a scenic backdrop full of Scottish mountains it is well worth rth the find.

Walks In Torridon

Torridon is a popular secluded area in the Scottish Highlands with few people passing by and staying every day. Torridon is one of the best places in the UK for adventurous activities. Torridon is surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and stunning Loch it is home to some of the most popular walks in the Scottish Highlands.  There is a variety of walks around Torridon varying in difficulty and length to suit beginner hikers and more experienced hikers. Below are some of the breath taking walks within the Torridon area that the highlands has to offer. 

Torridon Hiking Trails

1. Liathach 

Distance -      11.6 km

Time -                8 h

Elevation -      1262 m

Difficulty -       Hard

This route starts near Torridon just on a layby underneath Liathach. The ascent to the tops of these munros is steep and direct, you will then follow the not so exposed ridge across the three horns. Once you reach the top of first Munro you will start the exposed challenging Liathach ridge to the next summit. Find this route here

2. Beinn Dearg

Distance -      17.9 km

Time -                7 h

Elevation -      1142 m

Difficulty -      Hard

This route starts and ends in Coire just a short drive from Torridon.  The path up to the summit of  Beinn Dearg is not very clear at times and can be hard to follow, once at the top of the mountain there are great views across to to Liathach and the surrounding scattered stand alone mointains. 3. Round Liathach

Distance -      22 km

Time -                6 h

Elevation -      619 m

Difficulty -       Moderate

This long rather low level walk starts and ends in Torridon village. The walk does a large loop around the popular Liathach taking in all different perspectives of this iconic mountain.As well as Liathach you can alos get outstanding views of Loch Torridon and Beinn Eighe National park.
